So by looking at the rules for a chase, having multiple people in a chase helping catch someone doesn't really do any good? Can't assist, make multiple roles, etc?

The multiple character chase section seems more of a suggestion than anything else. I'd rule it such that you'd have to outpace all hunters individually. Alternatively replace NC rolls with a difficulty based on their number and ability.

More chances of a decent result? If 1,000,000 people chase you, one will hit a bunch of consecutive successes?
I'd maybe allow one assist and a Will: Coordinate roll (cops coordinating search style).

Well, there are more chances that one will roll better than prey than the other. Or, one can take a marksmanship test while the other continues the chase. I don't think assist in a chase is possible, how can one help the other run faster? And, while we are at the subject I would mention the only chase currently happening - who is watching over those two brawlers if all three guards are in a chase?

Every two rounds the encounter continued another guard arrived on the scene . With a murder and a theft of keys has thickened the number of guards and their response time .
