The reward and improvement system for this game will be a little different than in the core rulebook. The changes are made so that the player's can still get something for the time they spend in general while still getting bonuses for going the extra mile or achieving a goal.
Coin
Coin can be earned at just about any point in the game. Whether it is through trade, theft, wages, or gifts there is no set time when coin can fall into your hands (or slip through your fingers). Because the coin can pass from character to character at any time based on purely player driven events (such as one player's smith offering to forge a weapon for another player for a price) and with no actual involvement on my part as the Narrator, coin will be the most flexible reward.
Glory
Player's will still continue to earn Glory for their House by completing House objectives or by performing great deeds themselves (which then reflects back on their House). Glory will be kept track of in each individual House's private board and from there the players of that House can decide what to do with it (whether they decide to invest it in the House's resources or allow a player to use it to get an addition +1B on an important dice roll). Glory is going to most likely be the most abstract of the rewards to be had but very valuable nonetheless.
Experience
For many of you this is what you really want. Experience points which you can then spend to further improve your character. In this game, earning experience will be a little different. Instead of receiving experience points after doing battle or succeeding in an intrigue, experience will be given out at the end of every real-time week. Each week of participating in the game each character will receive 15 XP. Depending on individual character's actions, they could receive more. Actions that would warrant gaining more experience would be significant story events for the character (such as achieving their goal of being knighted or marrying into a more powerful family/position). Extra XP won't be earned just by winning a small fight (though winning a tourney might warrant some bonus XP).
Improvement
Now what to do with all this experience? Well, as stated before you'll want to spend it to improve your character! You can do this in one of three ways:

Improvement
Now what to do with all this experience? Well, as stated before you'll want to spend it to improve your character! You can do this in one of three ways:
- Acquire or Improve Specialty (10 XP):You can gain 1B in a specialty or increase an existing specialty by +1B. To do this you must spend at least one in-game time slot (2 hours) practicing and training. This training does not have to be with someone who has a higher rank in that specialty.
- Improve Ability (30 XP):You can spend 30 XP to improve an ability. For each rank you are increasing the ability it costs 30 XP (so increasing Fighting from 2 to 3 costs 30 XP, to increase it from 2 to 4 it would cost 60 XP). You must spend 1 week training with someone who who has at least 1 rank higher than you in the rank you are improving. You can still improve the rank without training with someone but the time increases to 1+1d6/2 weeks.
- Gain a Destiny Point (50 XP): You can spend 50 XP to gain a Destiny Point. Once you do you may immediately invest the Destiny Point in a Benefit or use it to erase a drawback.
