While there are rules for the game and how to play it there are also rules for the player and how to conduct yourself as well in order to make this work. In order for everyone to have fun everyone should remember these rules and do their best to adhere to them. They will be enforced should not adhering to them disturb, upset, or being to ruin the experience of other players. It should never come to that point though.
1)The number one rule is of course: HAVE FUN! Bet no one saw that coming. Laugh off things, shrug off things, roll with what happens to your character, you don't play Call of Cthulhu and expect your characters to no go insane, so you shouldn't play SIFRPG and expect that your character doesn't run the risk of being betrayed (even by other player characters). Don't think you can handle that? This may not be the PbP for you.
2)Be respectful of your other players. The rule doesn't have to apply to character interactions though, it's expected for highborn to treat lowborn with contempt in Westeros. So respect another player's roleplaying when his stuck up lordling scoffs and treats your lowly stable boy character with contempt.
3)CvC = Ok, PvP = Not Ok. Know the difference between Character vs. Character and Player vs. Player. It's ok for characters to treat each other with contempt, hate each other, even betray and kill each other in this game. But it's not ok for the players themselves to grow spiteful towards each other. It's just a game after all. Two player's characters can bicker and quarrel, even kill one or the other, and the players still get along in Out of Character discussions and even be friends. I know cause I've seen it.
